Garlic and Herb Grilled Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Kabobs

Our garlic and herb marinade yields deliciously succulent shrimp and juicy sausage that are then skewered on skewers before grilling to perfection. Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb andouille sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the garlic, thyme, parsley, olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the shrimp and sausage onto the skewers, alternating between shrimp and sausage.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp is pink and cooked through and the sausage is browned and crispy.

Cajun sauce ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Cajun sauce instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, hot sauce, Cajun seasoning, and lemon juice.
  2. Serve the Cajun sauce with the grilled shrimp and sausage skewers.

Perfect for a family of four to six, this dish is best served with roasted potatoes, corn on the cob or a tasty mixed green salad.
